Please join APT WGLC and Landmarks Illinois on an exclusive members-only tour of the Old Cook County Hospital Rehabilitation in Chicago! The tour is open to 20 APT WGLC Members.

The eight story Old Cook County Hospital building, and penthouses was designed and commenced construction in 1912 and was completed in 1916 by Paul Gerhardt (County Architect). The building has been vacant for nearly 20 years and is currently undergoing a restoration to be developed into an office building and hotel with retail space on the first two floors.

APT WGLC will meet at 1:30 pm at the construction trailer located at 630 South Wood Street. All participants must sign in. We will meet in the trailer for brief presentation and tour of the interior work in progress. A supplementary tour from the scaffolding will be available following the interior tour, for anyone that has an active City of Chicago scaffold card. This is an active construction site. Please wear boots and bring a hardhat and safety vest if you have one, if you do have have a hardhat/vest one will be available for loan on site.
